ThinClient Computing
The advantages of a ThinClient network are to be found in its configuration and the functionality of the corresponding software. Any data or applications are not saved and performed on the ThinClient itself, but provided on a central server accessed by the ThinClient which only serves as a pure user and screen surface. This makes cost-effective and efficient work possible, because:
Data and software don't have to be maintained separately for each single work place, but they may be updated and administrated on the central server and thus made available for all connected ThinClients.
Software updates are no longer necessary on each PC, since an update of the software located on the server is sufficient. In case of a power outage or a hardware failure no data are lost and only the ThinClient has to be exchanged quickly in order to continue work immediatelly.
Due to the server's high computing power the ThinClients need only a split of a common computer's performance and consequently less electric power. Thus they may be used efficiently for a much longer period of time. You may access your data on any ThinClient with your user profile and you can work with them.
ThinClients may be administrated even in a switched off-mode by an administrator.
The related ThinClient Manager makes it in addition possible for the administrators to display clearly the company's structure with all of its branches and departments, down to the single work place, and to integrate it into a network easily to be maintained. Production flows and administration works are optimised.
