Known Issues

The list of the package manager is empty

This is unfortunately a known issue. There are few possible solutions
1. First of all try the OpenThinClientManager from the machine where the server is running. If this works update the packages from there.
2. You could try adding the OpenThinClient server ip + name to your local hosts on the maschine you a trying
to connect from.
3. Make sure to check if you use a proxy server in your environment that there is no interference from it.

Other

check (or limit) the network connection for testing purposes

If you have an old network installation, problematic nics, or a common connection problem with a particular thin client it might be helpful to check the connection. The distribution has the network diagnostic tool "ethtool" on board which can limit the transmission rate and the connection quality.

To access ethtool you need to open a console window with the keystrokes "Ctrl-Shift-Alt and X". Then issue the command "su" followed by the "Enter" key to obtain root privileges. The root password is "foobar"

With the command ethtool eth0 you see a basic overview of the current settings.

The command ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off speed 10 duplex half limits the connection speed to 10Mb/s and sets it to half duplex.
