System requirements
- Minimum 500 MB, recommended 1 GB RAM on Microsoft Windows XP, 2000 Server and Server 2003
- Minimum 1 GB, recommended 1,5 GB RAM on Microsoft Windows Vista and Server 2008
- Minimum 500 MB, recommended 1 GB RAM on Linux
- Minimum 1 GB, recommended 2 GB of free harddisc space
- Several unassigned ports:
- TCP: 1098, 1099, 2069, 3873, 4444, 4445, 8009, 8080, (internal webserver), 8083, 10389 (LDAP server)
- UDP: 67 (DHCP proxy), 69 (TFTP server), 514 (SYSLOG server), 2069, 4011 (DHCP proxy)
- Sun Java 1.6 (JRE is sufficient)
- Only one configured NIC besides loopback (multihoming on todo)
- Working internet connection
Notice:
Be aware that it is a requirement that the TCP and UDP ports above are not firewalled.
- Windows: Create an exception for the windows firewall or deactivate it completely.
- Linux: Use iptables directly or the appropriate fontend to configure the firewall.
network requirements
- You need a running DHCP server on your network to assign ip addresses for the clients. This DHCP server cannot be on the same machine as the openthinclient server because the integrated dhcp proxy service uses the same port.
